Welcome to East Anglian Swallow Tails (E.A.S.T.), a Masters Swimming Club

EAST Swimming Club is one of the largest masters swimming clubs in Norfolk and prides itself on being a friendly, fun and varied club.

Formed in 1987 by a small group of swimmers, notably Jane Asher, the club is based in Norwich, Norfolk, and caters for adult swimmers aged from 18 right up to 80 plus. Our members live across a wide area of East Anglia, and the club is affiliated to Swim England (formerly the Amateur Swimming Association), enabling members to register as competitive swimmers and take part in Masters swimming competitions locally and nationally. We started out with a single session at the now-defunct St Augustine’s swimming pool in Norwich; today we run seven coached training sessions each week.

Who are our members : We cater for swimmers aged 18 and over of all abilities (see swim requirements below) who enjoy structured training sessions with other adults. Our members include former competitive and non-competitive swimmers, triathletes, open water swimmers, European record holders, those who learnt to swim as adults, and everything in between.

What we can offer: We offer seven 1-hour sessions and two 2-hour sessions each week. Each session is different, with themes running on different days so you can pick your preferred workout. Our sessions cover all aspects of swimming, including technique, skills, fitness, long distance, sprints, and race pace preparation.

What we can help you achieve: Whether your focus is developing your swimming skills, enjoying regular workouts with like-minded people, aiming to swim at the next National competition, or simply staying fit and healthy, our full and varied swim programme can help you get there.

Swim requirements: Most of our sessions have access to four to six lanes, so we can cater for a range of abilities. Our sessions cover all strokes, so swimmers should be able to comfortably swim front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke, and have a good knowledge of butterfly or a willingness to learn. We’d normally ask that swimmers can complete repeated 50m front crawl swims in under 1 minute 30 seconds.

We look forward to welcoming you to your two free trial swims — please click the link below for further information about joining.
